Petition Extend the recent law on tailgating and middle-laning to include Anti-social driving
More details
The recent amendment of the law to include tailgating and middle-lane hogging as punishable offences is a step in the right direction. However, it does not go far enough to give police the power or confidence to intervene in smaller, more overlooked areas of traffic regulations:
Failing to indicate at a junction or roundabout; Driving over mini-roundabouts, and not around them; Queue Jumping; Stopping in Keep Clear boxes or hatching; Failing to stop at a pelican crossing when required.
These offences must be subject to the same enforcement as any other motoring conviction, and should also cover anti-social Driving such as:
'Boy Racing'; Modifying or altering a car in an agressive or threatening manner; Driving agressively; Playing music in-car at an antisocial volume.
