Rejected petition Award A level students in England exam marks predicted by their tutors.

Revoke the use of the standardisation algorithm and use the marks awarded by teachers as has been agreed in Scotland.
Thousands of students have had their life chances damaged by downgraded results which will affect them throughout their careers.

More details

I would like the Government or Parliament to accept the tutors predictive assessments, to allow students who have been downgraded to proceed with their future plans.

Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.

We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

Since you started your petition the Government has announced that GCSE and A-level students will receive their centre assessment grades: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/gcse-and-a-level-students-to-receive-centre-assessment-grades

Prior to this announcement being made, we had published the following petitions, calling for similar actions to your request:

Reverse all exam grades back to teacher’s own predictions: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/334491

Review the decision to use previous data to calculate exam grades: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/306773

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
