Rejected petition Change the way Universal Credit is dealt with for Student Maintenance Loans

Instead of deducting Student Finance Maintenance Loans from UC monthly please treat as income just for the assessment period it is received in. We would then lose some or all of our UC for that month but not every month.

It is not fair that we lose money we are entitled to and would otherwise be paid from UC via monthly deductions yet still owe the full amount of loans taken out when our course ends. We basically end up repaying our maintenance loans twice if we are claiming UC for any significant period of time.
