Slaughter without pre-stunning inflicts unnecessary pain & distress on animals & has been banned in many other countries.The govt appointed Farm Animal Welfare Council, RSPCA, CIWF & other animal welfare charities believe that it should not be permitted. Whilst respecting the right to religious freedom , if this country chooses not to ban this method of slaughter then THE RESULTING MEAT SHOULD AT LEAST BE APPROPRIATELY LABELLED TO GIVE THE CONSUMER CHOICE.
