Rejected petition Allow partners to pregnancy scans and be their during the birthing process

To lift the restrictions so partners can also attend their baby scans and antenatal appointments. Also be their prior to labour starting in hospital

More details

Because it doesn't help the mental state of the mother during this time why any woman would want to go through labour on their own or even encounter their partner been forced out of hospital and not allowed back in so they miss their babies arrival disgusting. But it's acceptable to sit in pubs and go to gyms outrageous!!!

Something needs to be done. We need to be heard. As I pregnant woman myself I would not like it for my partner to miss every single appointment of his child

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Decisions about who can attend scans are a matter for the NHS, not the UK Government or House of Commons.

On 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
