Rejected petition Review the rule of 6 so under 12s are exempt.

England should adopt the same measures as Scotland on the rule of 6 so under 12 are exempt.

More details

The rule of 6 so unfairly impacts on families, it essentially means that one family will be unable to meet up with another family for the foreseeable future. When up to 6 people from multiple households can meet as often as they like, it makes no sense that two families cannot meet because in most cases there will be more than 6 people. This will hugely affect parent’s ability to connect with other parents (essential in what is such a difficult and challenging time) and mean that children will be unable to see friends outside of school very easily. This is unfair when the rest of society is able to socialise in groups of six as often as they like.
