Rejected petition Legislate to hold MPs who vote to break international law personally liable
If the government proposes legislation which breaks international law, then those MPs who support that legislation should be personally accountable for the consequences and the damage this causes to their fellow citizens and not able to hide behind parliamentary privilege
More details
The proposed legislation in connection with Northern Ireland is acknowledged to break the legally binding withdrawal agreement, and risks restarting the troubles in Ireland as well as wreaking untold damage on Britain's reputation. MPs who vote for this legislation should be forced to fear the consequences and not hide behind party procedure or tradition. Tradition and precedent is less important than the rule of law.
