Rejected petition Use Category 3 Laboratories in UK Universities to process Covid Antigen tests.

At the beginning of the Covid Pandemic, Universities throughout the UK were prepared to make their Category 3 containment Laboratories and staff available for Covid Antigen Testing.

With the demand for tests outstripping the ability to process them, now is the time to make use of them.

The Government is still advertising for help to provide laboratory capacity, and the Government's guidance on which laboratories can provide part of the testing pathway already refers to Category 3 facilities.

Deciding whether to offer support to the Government's testing programme is a matter for individual universities.
