Abolishing standing charges mean that you only pay for the fuel you use. Meaning lower costs for everyone.But especially for the elderly and those on fixed and low or minimum incomes.And essentially the potential to choose - if you choose to use little energy you are not hit with monthly/quarterly charges.
Also providing transparency when it comes to comparing costs between companies as well.Better than a subsidised freeze.
