Rejected petition Avoid a national lockdown and reduce local restrictions

Give more priority to the economy and allow people to take responsibility for their own health and safety by reducing restrictions. More restrictions will only delay infections and lead to more poverty and isolation.

There is a large body of opinion which is currently unheard that supports more priority to continuing usual activity despite increasing infections. It is accepted that this will will have a negative impact on health and mortality; people have a good understanding of how to protect their own health.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
