Rejected petition Support David Dimbleby as new Independent Chair of the BBC

We want the government to select David Dimbleby as Chair of the BBC.
The latest selection by the Government is not independent and as a result the BBC will not earn or retain the confidence of the UK public.
David Dimbleby would provide a much respected face to British broadcasting.

The UK public pay the licence fees and are effectively shareholders of the BBC, they should have some say on the election for the new head of the BBC. We deserve an independent unbiased figure head who commands the respect of the viewing public.
