All serving Members of Parliament and all future newly elected Members of Parliament, should, within one year, spend a one week attachment with each of the following service providers: Their local Police Service, Their local Magistrates or Crown Court, Their local hospital A&E Department, A local Comprehensive School, Social Services and a branch of the Armed Forces, preferably on active service. All attachments to be with front line staff, not managers. After this experience, they will better placed to comment on issues affecting these departments and serve their constituents better.
