Closed petition Greater rights and freedoms for asylum seekers/refugees
Closed on
We seek an open debate on the humanitarian situation of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK plagued by an unfair and unbalanced decision system, and by society-wide prejudice that is both deliberate and systemic. We would like the extension of equal rights in employment, healthcare and access to justice to people within the asylum process; access to increased and sufficient government support established; and a full review of the competency of decision-making systems within the UKBA by the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights in conjunction with relevant independent parties with a view to the eradication of enforced and accidental destitution.
