This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament
Rejected petition Let us have appointments in person with GPs during covid PPE rules followed
Allow us to make an appointment with a GP face to face instead of being told telephone consultation or video call
More details
People are suffering unnecessarily , being misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all because they are not being seen in person. This is causing unnecessary strain on 111 , urgent care and A&E as we have no choice but to use these services when our own GPs refuse to see us
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Government guidance allows for GPs to see patients face-to-face if necessary: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/social-distancing/using-the-nhs-and-other-health-services/.
Whether a GP invites patients to attend an appointment in person is a clinical decision for them, their surgery, and the Clinical Commissioning Group to which they belong, not the UK Government or Parliament.
