Rejected petition Financial Support for the Newly Self-Employed in Beauty and Hairdressing.
I have been a Self-Employed Semi-permanent Makeup Artist and Beauty Therapist for 2 years from August 2018. I kept a part time job on the side whilst I built up clients until June 2019. I am not eligible for the SEIS even though from July 2019 to present date, I have now made an established income.
More details
So many businesses have been forced to close their doors in the Beauty and Hairdressing sector. Many of the Self-employed have not been eligible for any Grants or Support schemes for reasons such as not owning a premises, being mobile or renting a chair for example. Or that the tax year the SEIS has been based on, they didn't earn enough for that tax year in particular for example, were either part time in both employment and self-employment, or they became Self-Employed after that tax year.

If you want the Government to extend eligibility to the SEISS on a different basis to the above, you could start a new petition about this, but it would need to be clear what changes you wanted the Government to make to the current scheme.
