Petition Commit to a deadline for when mental health problems will see a maximum timeframe for treatment enforced.
More details
Did you know that whilst there is an 18 week target in the NHS on waiting times for treatment of physical illnesses, no such target exists for mental health treatment?
A survey of nearly 500 people by charity Beat has found that a significant percentage of people suffering with eating disorders are having to wait longer than 18 weeks to receive treatment. Government has stated that they are working towards equal access for treatment for mental health problems, but there’s still no agreed time frame for when mental health problems will see maximum waiting times enforced.

Knowing people who have been through recovery, I'm too aware that it's a tough road made worse by long waiting times and lack of sufficient funding. It takes a lot of courage to seek treatment, so to be then faced with months of waiting with little to no ongoing support is unacceptable.
