As somebody looking to buy van insurance on a modified electric vehicle I came across the issue that most specialist vehicle insurance simply don't insure electric vehicles. It's also the case that "standard" insurers wouldn't quote me when I modified the vehicle.

I was therefore left with a very small pool of possible providers, meaning I am financially punished for purchasing a more environmentally friendly vehicle.
