Rejected petition Reduce cancelled insurance disclosure to 5 years in line with claims/convictions

At present having cancelled insurance affects you for life , wheras someone with convictions doesn't have to disclose that after 5 years. This seems inappropriate and unfair to regular everyday people. Insurance companies are compulsory yet seem barely regulated and free to do whatever they please.
