Petition Means Test for MP salary eligibility

All political representatives (MP's; Welsh Assembly Members; Local Authority Councillors etc) to be means tested for their eligibility to receive remuneration for their political position, exclusive of expenses and in conjunction with an obligation not to engage in any other paid work for the duration of their tenure.

This will:
assist the poorest to consider becoming political representatives;

reduce temptation of politicians to 'pander to' rather than engage and debate with the electorate simply to remain "in a job";

encourage wealthier politicians to focus on their role 100% rather than their other financial interests;

bring a more representative and responsive government who are more able to engage the public to become a more active electorate.
