Rejected petition Let University Students Cancel their Tenancy Contracts with Private Landlords

I would like the government to consider allowing students to be released from their private landlord tenancies, relieving them of paying rent for places they are not actually living.

Many university students are paying rent for student houses when a lot are moving home due to the fact they do not have to attend university. It is extremely frustrating for students like myself to be paying thousands of pounds of rent for somewhere they are not living and the rules need to change
