Petition Make Green Deal Loans Interest Free

The Green Deal is a loan attached to a property, not an individual, so that homeowners, landlords and tenants can pay for energy efficient measures such as insulation, heating /hot water systems, windows doors and renewable technology like solar PV and solar hot water etc...
The loan is paid back in instalments attached to the properties electricity bill. The idea being that the repayments are set a level to be less than, or equal too, what you would be spending on energy had you not had the measures installed.
People are currently put off Green Deal loans due to the level of uncertainty and interest attached to the loan.
Making Green Deal loans interest free will have the following benefits:
1. encourage more people to make their homes efficient
2. create more jobs
3. reduce our energy usage & bills
4. reduce our carbon footprint
