Rejected petition Allow exemption from hotel quarantine for people travelling for medical purposes
People travelling for essential and non-deferrable medical treatments not available in the UK will be put in extreme difficulty and mental distress by enforcing hotel quarantine. We ask for exemption, and are willing to abide by a method of location checks whilst isolating at home after arrival.
More details
To protect the public from covid spread by international travellers, whilst also protecting those travellers with extenuating circumstances from the severe physical, mental and financial distress a hotel quarantine will bring them. This small group may also need urgent medical assistance when back in the UK.
A better way to control the spread would be to introduce lateral flow testing on arrival in addition to having a negative test certificate as already successfuly implemented in Europe.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Medical treatment already appears to be exempt in the Government's guidance on isolation and quarantine:
