He has faced war and death in the name of HM Forces. He has seen things most folk cannot imagine, including the body parts of dead colleagues having been hung as trophies from trees by the Taliban.

He was rightly convicted of killing the wounded Taliban fighter. However, to sentence him to life imprisonment likens him to evil premeditated killers like the child-killers Mick and Maireid Philpott.

A sentence of a couple of years is more than sufficient.
