Calls are often made for the wages of civil servants to be capped so they do not exceed the Prime Minisiter's salary. If such a policy is introduced by the Government it should take into account the total value of the PM's remuneration package should be taken into account, including the PM's platinum plated pension, limousines, free accommodation in Chequers and Downing Street, RAF flights, first class travel, quite apart from the hard to quantify benefits such as pwer, prestige, fame and long-term earning prospects when leaving office.
