Rejected petition Debate creating memorials to commemorate the dead from COVID-19.
The current pandemic has so far killed more than 100,000 people in the UK. Collectively the deaths highlight how fragile human life is, and hoe special it is. A memorial at local levels should highlight the people who died, and should be a reminder of what we as humans have got.
More details
I think that the Government and Parliament should lead a wider debate about how to commemorate the dead from this dreadful pandemic. The Government should also contribute money to the local councils to help them to create a memorial that it suitable for their area.
