Rejected petition NO fracking in the UK

We do not want fracking in the UK.

We want a proper debate in parliament and advice from independent experts (i.e. those that have no vested interests in corporations that make money from shale gas extraction) before any more planning permissions are granted for on-shore shale gas exploration in the UK. We want clear guarantees from the government that the following things will not occur as a result of fracking in the UK:

Contamination of water supplies.
Earthquakes.
Decimation of our eco-systems or wildlife populations.
Soil contamination.
Giant sink-holes opening up around the UK.
Un-mortgageable or un-insurable properties.

Why was this petition rejected?
