Rejected petition Create a new, permanent, Memorial Bank Holiday.

Create a new, permanent, Memorial Bank Holiday, to remember the many lives lost, give voice to the grieving, and acknowledge the collective loss and sacrifice of the people of the UK, due to Coronavirus.

More details

With one of the highest coronavirus death rates in the world, a new Bank Holiday would be a fitting reminder in perpetuity, for the significant multitude of loss (of life, physical and mental health, employment, businesses, relationships, and multiple sources of support).

We are a nation in mourning, and too often grief and loss have been privatised within our culture. This new Bank Holiday would be an opportunity for the Government to show its ongoing commitment to wellbeing.
