Closed petition MPs 2nd Home Rules to be Abolished

Closed on

The public has lost confidence in MPs' integrity regarding all aspects of their 2nd homes;
WE demand:
1. ALL current MP's 2nd home allowances be abolished as soon as practicable
2. Where return to MP's FAMILY HOME/other property in their ownership/tenancy/other right to reside is IMPRACTICAL due to PARLIAMENTARY DUTIES, then hotel bed & breakfast allowance be claimed at set rate.
3. Item 2 designated as transitional only
4. Medium to long-term, Government purchases suitable property to accommodate MPs in a "not-for-profit" style hotel owned and run by suitable organisation
5. No tax-payer subsidy is provided for ANY food/beverage & MPs pay commercial rate for such subsistence at facility in item 4
6. Only the cost of accommodation in item 4 is met by The Taxpayer directly.
7. MPs receive, a daily subsistence allowance, not to exceed the rate available to Westminster City Council staff, or similar public sector benchmark, to assist in meeting subsistence costs in item4
