Rejected petition An adaptation of the Human Rights Act to include freedom from sexual harassment
Another article in the Human Rights Act of 1998 should pass - Article 15: The freedom from sexual harassment.
This allows citizens to feel as if they have legislation on their side and allows them to speak up and prevents harassment all together. Article 8 is not strong enough - more is deserved.
More details
The new article should say - "All members of the public have the right to freely express who can touch their body or talk to them in a sexual manner. Public authority cannot interfere with the exercise of this right unless valid reasoning (such as suspicion of drugs or weapons). Ordinary citizens can no longer make another member of the public uncomfortable because of sexual desires, this includes the prohibition of catcalling, groping, displaying photos or drawings of a sexual nature and more."

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you'd like new criminal offences for specific things that aren't already a crime, or different rights.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, or you might like to sign this petition:
