Scrap any plans the government might have to commission a new royal yacht.
It has been reported that the UK government could spend as much as £200m on a new royal yacht. This would be an appalling waste of money at a time when so many people are struggling, when our NHS needs more funding, when that money could be spent elsewhere.
There is no evidence that this ship will make any difference to British trade, while running costs will add millions to the cost of the monarchy every year.
