Petition Stop foreign aid to countries with questionable human rights

More details

Foreign aid should be withdrawn from countries with questionable human rights, legislation incompatible with our own values and, countries with high levels of corruption.

For example Uganda will receive £95 million pounds 2013-2014, which includes £18.2 million to spend on ‘Governance and Security’, yet they have just passed a bill to toughen the punishment for homosexual acts to include life imprisonment. Why is our money being given to such an abhorrent Government?

Uganda appears 140 of 175 countries on the Transparency International index, proven to be one of the most corrupt in the World. Why is our money being given to such a corrupt Government?

The UK Government should create a charter which details the terms under which aid should be granted to other countries which reflects the views and opinions of it’s people.
