In the past year, 75 homelessness projects have closed and in the last two years 2206 bed spaces in hostels and other accommodation have been lost across the country due to lack of funding.People should not have to suffer the indignity of sleeping on the streets sometimes through no fault of their own. Shelter is the most basic of human rights. Government should be putting more money in to this basic provision not less.
