Rejected petition Request a judicial review by the government into the social care system entirely
We want the government to review the entire social care system including assessments are relevant and appropriate. Ensure that families are receiving appropriate support before children are removed. Assessments and records are written from perceptions and understanding and are often infactual.
More details
A judicial review will be helpful to ALL Local authorities and families within their boroughs as currently they are failing children and families, there is no early interventions for families and the assessments completed are not holistic and social care is failing in many boroughs across the UK and Wales. Clearly the system is failing, we want the government to do a judicial review and make the relevant changes for the benefit of everyone.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We understand that you are concerned about social care, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
A judicial review is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the lawfulness of a decision or action made by a public body. Judicial reviews have to relate to specific decisions, and cannot be used to review a whole sector.
We could accept a petition calling for a public inquiry or Government review of social care, but you would need to be clear what you want this inquiry or review to investigate.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
