When I was 9 years old I remember feeling utterly humiliated as I was forced to be weighed in front of my classmates. This along with the bullying; was then the start of a long decade of disordered eating behaviours which led me down a dark path.
We must stop pushing the narrative of weight equals health, we must stop attaching moral value to food to children at such a young age and therefor encouraging dieting and disordered behaviours. instead the system actually needs to properly educate.
