Rejected petition Stop the privatisation of Channel 4

Oliver Dowden has confirmed plans to privatise the broadcaster Channel 4. In order to make Channel 4 attractive to investors, it would have to radically change it remit to provide a diverse range of programming.

Channel 4 should remain publicly owned. At present the broadcaster puts all its profits into commissioning more programming. Once privatised, it's profits will just go into the pockets of the already wealthy and UK broadcasting will become that much blander and more uniform.
