Rejected petition Change existing legislation on the recovery of benefits from insurers - COVID-19
Existing legislation enables Govt, via the Compensation Recovery Units of the DWP, to recover deductions made from insurance settlements, of monies received by claimants from Govt agencies. Ins. co's are making like deductions in relation to COVID-19 claims payments, but no legislation exists.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about current arrangements for making deductions in respect of certain payments, but we're not sure what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
If you want the Government to seek to recoup Covid-19 support payments, where recipients have also received insurance payments to cover losses experienced as a result of Covid-19, you could start a new petition stating clearly how you want this to work.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
