Rejected petition A law to protect children from being removed because of parental mental illness.
There needs to be a law in place protecting families where mental illnesses are present. A diagnosis does not define a person or a parent so why are local authorities up and down the country failing to provide support for families and going straight to court proceedings when support can be offered.

"Social care in England is 'a tower of Jenga held together with Sellotape', independent review warns. A "revolving door" of social workers."- Independent review of social services 17/06/2021. No one should be afraid of social services for having a mental illness/asking for mental health support and yet so many are. If the only evidence of harm is a diagnosis then support for managing it and understanding the individual should be priority, not removing their children.
