Local Councils should provide sufficient Allotment spaces as are the local community demands. Allotments would allow the grower to grow fruit and veg as an addition to their existing budget. These allotments could be used to encourage local residents on low incomes to provide a more healthy diets for themselves and their children. More disused land could be made available for use as allotments rather than being left neglected and a popular haunt of fly tippers. These sites would also benefit local wildlife.
