We, the undersigned, petition Her Majesty's Government and the Cabinet Office to award Dalton Philips, Chairman of Wm Morrison Plc, with a Knighthood for exemplary service to the retail industry.

Since Dalton Philips became the Chairman of Wm Morrison Plc, the supermarket has modernized within the space of two years. The changes include the following; an online shopping service in partnership with Fresh Direct and Ocado, the opening of new convenience stores, creating new jobs in a time of a recession, the introduction of modern technological systems, re-branding of new products, and working in partnership with farmers and fair trade groups.

The amount of effort and determination on Dalton's part has been outstanding on all levels and has proven to be a key figure in the retail sector that deserves an equally outstanding reward.
