Rejected petition Change the process-risk assessment tool, in order to convict stalkers earlier.
Change/adapt the stalkers law so stalkers are convicted earlier in the complaint. The THRIVE/DASH risk assessment tool needs adapting to be specific in stalkers complaints, therefore protecting victims from possible harm.
More details
This change is needed and long overdue in protecting law abiding, innocent victims of over obsessed individuals, who themselves need help and support to prevent further complaints of stalking.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The THRIVE and DASH risk assessments have been developed by the police to inform the approach to certain crimes. Operational decisions about how certain crimes are approached, and guidance produced by the police, are a matter for individual policing bodies and professional policing bodies, not the Government or House of Commons.
Similarly, decisions about prosecuting and sentencing individuals for stalking are a matter for the Crown Prosecution Service and the courts, not the Government or House of Commons.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
