Petition Open Bus links to all traffic in Sunderland, lower air polution

Bus Links in Sunderland...Open to all vehicles (at a Reduced speed for safety) & HELP REDUCE AIR POLLUTION.

They are approx 225ft in length, but a car, van etc. has to drive up to 1.5 MILES (possibly more) to get from one side to the other. WHY?

If Sunderland City Council are keen to help reduce air pollution & help the environment, then "Why make other vehicles travel so much further?"

Are they only allowing buses through, so that they can then fine people who try to save the added travel distance & fuel costs?

My personal concern is, the environmental impact that my 2 young children could suffer thanks to the long term effects of not allowing traffic travel a shorter distance.

So please sign up & ban Bus links, which add so much to a journey (NOT Bus Routes or Lanes).
