Closed petition Allow children and teachers to take up to two week holiday in a single block during term and extend term by two weeks to compensate

We request that:

1) Parents be allowed take their children out of school for a period of up to two weeks in a single block during term time.

2) Teachers be allowed to a take a period of up to two weeks of holiday in a single block during term time (replaced with supply teachers), and allowed to work for two weeks during other school holidays.

3) Term time is extended by two weeks in a year to compensate for the missed time in school.

Advantages for families: ability to afford a proper family holiday; less childcare needed.

Advantages for teachers: extra time to do non-teaching activities.

Advantages for workplaces: less requests for annual leave during school holidays.

Advantages for economy: families have more money to spend on other things.
