Closed petition Give the power back to the people

Parliament was originally created to collect the opinions of the people across the country via their MPs, the world has changed since 500 years ago and we no longer need to do this, the vast majority of us have access to the internet and others have access via a library, so for all major issues which see themselves in parliament, such as increasing the university tuition fees, (which the nation as a whole opposed but the government instated anyway,) we should be able to vote ourselves on the outcome.
We have already seen that the government ignores the top advisers on pressing matters innumerable times in the past, as a collective nation I believe we are smart enough to not do the same.
