More details

Today having a bank account to do online transactions and make contactless payments is a necessity.A cifas marker most times affects young people who unknowingly become money mules.Or it even affects online sellers who are paid with a hacked account or by a fraudulent charge back.Banning people from having a bank account for 6 years puts a strain on their lives and relegates them to a financial Stone Age. With 1.3 million unbanked in the UK, we should take steps in improving financial inclusion.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.

Decisions about taking action in the case of fraud is a matter for individual banks and fraud prevention bodies such CIFAS, not the Government or House of Commons.

As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
