Rejected petition Stop Parents being fined for taking their children in holiday

Why should parents be fined or threatened with a prison sentence for taking their children on a family holiday of which some children cannot experience due to financial difficulty. Where the child is performing well with their education there should be no concern with them experiencing new cultures and environments. And while we have violent people still avoiding prison is it right that parents with good intentions are punished!
