This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the recent panic buying of fuel, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
We could accept a petition calling for an inquiry into recent media reporting of fuel shortages, but fines can only be levied where an organisation has breached a law for which there are financial penalties.
If you are concerned about recent media coverage of fuel shortages you could also report these to Independent Press Standards Organisation, the independent regulator of most of the UK's newspapers and magazines: https://www.ipso.co.uk/
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
