Rejected petition Condemn the military coup in Sudan

Publicly condemn the military coup that has taken place in Sudan and stand in solidarity with the people of Sudan as they transition into a democracy and fight against the military dictatorship.

More details

Military and civilian leaders have been sharing power since August 2019 after Sudan's long-term authoritarian dictator Omar al-Bashir was overthrown. There has been disruption to this recently as Prime Minister Hamdok was reportedly detained by soldiers on Monday, along with several other ministers and people who were protesting for democracy. The internet and telecommunications have also been restricted and 140 have been injured and 7 killed due to live bullets and tear gas being fired.
