Petition bring back AS level examinations for 2015 sixth form students

From new light, it is clear that by eliminating AS-level examinations would significantly harm students chances of obtaining places at universities. These examinations provide an up to date assessment of attainment (which is used to provide university places. Not only this, but by harshening the way in which students are assessed, it is very clear that rather than awarding achievement for the depth of learning, the government are choosing to focus on grades. This message is not what should be given to students if we truly value their learning.
