Rejected petition Adjust the national living wage for citizens of Brighton and Hove

The cost of living in Brighton is far greater than that of it's surrounding cities, cities of equal size, and large cities around the country. This combined with wages matching that of these locations, makes living conditions an intense mental strain on the majority of citizens; new and current.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The national minimum wage doesn't have regional variations as it's a national wage.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, such as changing the national living wage to a local living wage based on living costs, if that's what you'd like to see happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
