Rejected petition Update the Display Screen Equipment Regulations (1992)
Rejected on
The Government needs to update the Display Screen Equipment Regulations to be more in-line with modern life, working practices and technology.
The Regulations are almost thirty years old. In that time, technology has changed massively, but the Regs haven't.
We have internet access in all homes. We have hybrid and home working. We have laptops, tablets and mobile phones regularly in use for work. But workers using technology today are only protected by risk assessments based on a 30 year old law.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned that the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 are out of date, but we're not sure exactly how you'd like these to be updated.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
